Was
It a UFO in Stephenville? An Offbeat Poll
Is
the end of days neigh in New Roswell?
Despite
a vibrant discussion yesterday on the reported UFO sightings in Stephenville,
Texas, we appear to be no closer to finding the truth -- whether it's out there
or not. Perhaps on Saturday, when The Texas chapter of the Mutual UFO Network
descends on Stephenville, the aliens will get the message and show up. If so,
there will be no excuse for observers not to have their cameras ready. UFOs belong
on YouTube!
In
the meantime, let's see if we can reach some kind of resolution on the topic.
From reading the hundreds of comments (and yes I did read all of them), there
appear to be three predominant points of view: that extraterrestrial life exists,
that it doesn't exist, or that the phenomenon around Stephenville is an indication
of the end of days. Here are three that sum it up nicely:
"Seeing
things in the sky that are unidentifiable doesn't seem at all unbelievable to
me. Making claims that a dead being is going to come to earth to wreak havoc upon
anyone who doesn't believe the same way you do; now that's crazy."
"WHO
IN THEIR RIGHT MIND BELIEVES IN ALIENS? AND ALSO THEY SAY IT WAS 1 MILE LONG AND
1/2 A MILE WIDE...YEAH YEAH WHATEVER THEY COULD HAVE TOOK A PICTURE IF IT WAS
THAT HUGE."
"THIS
IS EVIDENCE THAT YOU ALL NEED TO COME CLEAN WITH YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST.
IF YOU FORGET OR DECIDE NOT TO, THEN JUST REMEMBER THAT WHEN HE FORGETS OR DECIDES
NOT TO LET YOU INTO THE KINDGOM OF HEAVEN WITH THE REST OF US"
Clearly
writing in all caps makes an argument stronger, but where do you stand on the
issue of extraterrestrial life?
