Beverly
Sharp said Tuesday she wasn't sure what she saw reflected on her bedroom door
until she captured it on video.
And
then she knew.
"I
played that back so many times," the 53-year-old substitute teacher said.
"I know it's the image of a soul."
Ghost,
spirit, being -- whatever you call it, Sharp said God "allowed" her
to video what to skeptics may look like a dark object skittering across a screen.
Her
husband, 57-year-old Roy, thinks the image is "a spirit running toward the
cemetery." The couple lives in an apartment complex not far from Beverly
National Cemetery.
South
Jersey Paranormal Research, an organization that investigates such phenomena,
provides an entire page on its Web site devoted to examinations of paranormal
activity at area graveyards.
Monday
morning began like this: Sharp was in bed praying and resting. She saw an image
on her bedroom door, which was open to the dining room.
"It
was something heavenly, something beautiful," she recalled.
She
rushed to get her video camera, all the while murmuring, "Don't go away.
Don't go away."
She
can't really describe how it looked when she returned, and when asked why, she
said, "You can't see a ghost, can you?"
What
did Roy see?
"I
was asleep," the retired mechanic said.
The
video playback convinced her the image was a being reflected on her door from
one hovering outside.
"It's
phenomenal," she said. "It's phenomenal, plain and simple."
Asked
if what she saw could have been the result of late-night indigestion or early-morning
hangover, she replied, "Nothing like that."
Spirits
don't scare her, she said. There is no need to call in the Ghostbusters.
"I
am not afraid of the unknown, nor am I in pursuit of it," Sharp said.
Viewers
of the video will have to decide for themselves what they are seeing.
