Unseen
Nessie prompts tourism fears
The
falling number of Loch Ness monster sightings has prompted concerns that growing
scepticism is threatening the region's tourism industry, according to reports.
There
have only been two sightings this year, down from three in 2006 and much lower
than a decade ago when the annual number of sightings were consistently in the
double digits, The Times reported.
"It's
becoming a potential crisis," Mikko Takala, 39, a founding member of the
Loch Ness Monster Fan Club who runs four web cameras on the loch's north shore,
was quoted as saying.
