Sean
Carroll (Rochester, N.Y.) -- Among the Halloween attractions in Rochester this
year, theres a "haunted house" in a building some believe is really
haunted.
A
month from now, trick-or-treaters will be roaming neighborhood streets looking
for candy and a good Halloween scare. Between now and then, there are plenty of
haunted houses and attractions to scare anyone into the Halloween mood.
The
"House of Pain" located in the old Eastman Dental Dispensary could have
a special attraction; back in July, workers fixing up the thought this building
could be haunted.
The
owners brought in local paranormal investigation team Mystic Encounters that includes
a psychic.
SaraJane
Schwier of the House of Pain said, "The psychic was scared out of her mind
and some places she wouldn't even go into. She felt children pulling on her fingers,
a doctor kept pushing her out of a couple of the rooms."
Whether
some real ghosts show up or not, the dispensary will certainly feel haunted thanks
to Hollywood makeup artists, actors from the School of the Arts, and plenty of
special effects.
Schwier
said, "It is geared to young adults, late teens. It also is haunted as well
which is kind of cool."
But
the Eastman Dental Dispensary isn't the only live action horror palace in Rochester.
"Fear
at Southtown Plaza opens this year in addition to the ever-popular "Fear
at Frontier" Field.
Between
the two locations, some 80 gory ghouls and actors will be hiding in dark corners
for unsuspecting visitors.
Mike
Garbato of "Fear at Southtown" and "Fear at Frontier" said,
"I remember people taking walls down, running, I've seen people fall to the
floor and practically have a heart attack."
All
three haunted houses open their doors to the public on Thursday night and will
be open throughout October.
Tickets
are between $13 and $15 and each devotes some proceeds of each ticket to local
charities.
