Group says that they have proof that town hall is haunted

COHASSET, Mass. -- A group of ghost hunters says that they have proof that the Cohasset Town Hall is haunted.

The building that is now used as Cohasset Town Hall has played many rolls since it was built prior to the Civil War. It has been a theatre, a ballroom, a school and even a jailhouse. Recently it has been rumored that a ghost from one of those eras has been haunting the building.

Using an infrared camera and digital recording equipment, a team from the Enfield Paranormal Society investigated rumors of a poltergeist haunting the town hall.

When in an area of the building that was once used as a jail, the group recorded what appears to be a man saying "no."

"They got an EVP and it was a man saying a very stern 'no,'" Jennifer Orhm, Cohasset Town Manager's Assistant, said. "And it's an electronic voice phenomenon. And it's not something that is heard by the human ear, this is what they say, but when you run it through some software onto a program, you can pick up voices, names, they can be answering to questions."

The team says that the real proof occurred when they filmed a door closing on its own in the attic of the building.

The team's medium claims that the ghost is not friendly; rather it is a territorial older man who thinks that the building belongs to him.

Town managers say that they will be reviewing all of the evidence gathered by the investigators.
