If
we define feng shui as the art of placement then we need a map where
one can trace the good chi in our homes, offices, rooms or even in our gardens.
Thus, we re-introduce here the annual Flying Star Chart as you can view from our
best-selling Almanac. This chart is divided into 9-grid map where different energies
dwell in different sectors for the year. Guided by the compass, each sector is
then assigned their respective direction the main (north, south, east west),
sub-directions (northeast, northwest, southeast, southwest) plus the center sector.
Every
year, the good and bad stars fly into different sectors. By pinpointing the location
of each star, we can then appropriate the proper remedies and luck charms so we
are in harmony with the flow of energy and consequently, benefit from it. Lucky
stars are with numbers 1, 4, 6 and of course, 8. And the unlucky stars are numbers
2, 3, 5, and 7.
For
2008, the Year of the Earth Rat, the lucky number 1 star lies at the center. Fittingly,
2008 marks the start of the calendar cycle with the rat as its animal sign. Also
called the White Star, it ushers in victory and success for all endeavors. If
you place a water feature or Kwan Kung at the center, success luck, career luck
and recognition may reside here.
The
northwest is besieged by the Illness Star number 2 which is the patriarchal sector.
The Black Star of illnesses carries with it physical sickness and loss of energy.
To counter this ill-fate, you can hang a whirling Wu Lou wind chime or place a
transformational fan to blow away its bad effect. Another proper cure for this
sector would be the medicine buddha mandala or by wearing the medicine buddha
bracelet. You can also use a metal cure to strengthen this sector.
Quarrels
and petty arguments can spring up from the west where the Argumentative Star lies
in 2008. When ignored, such friction can lead to unhealthy relationships, legal
battles and family discord. To exhaust this quarrelsome star, put a golden laughing
Buddha at the West together with a Ksitigarbha fire ball. Another option would
be painting your door red if it faces the west. The mentioned remedies can lessen
the chances of conflict or politics against you.
For
those seeking romance or scholastic luck, take good care of your northeast direction
of your dwelling. The so-called Sexy Star rests here that may bring many romantic
opportunities as well as good scholastic standing. A pair of mandarin ducks should
be displayed here for a happy love life. If you need help in your studies, solicit
the help of a Chi Lin with four Scholastic objects, a dragon gate water feature
or a crystal globe to active your luck.
The
Fearsome 5 Yellow Star is at the south so be forewarned. The star of misfortune
should be not disturbed by any noise or bright light for this bad star carries
with it all manners and manifestations of bad luck. Stay clear of this direction
and star and place a 5 element pagoda to overcome such misfortunes. Add to that,
the Grand Duke Tai Sui also resides at the south together with the three Killings.
So, let the divine guardians (the Chi Lin, the Fu Dog and Pi yao) protect you.
For
speculative luck, the Heaven Star can be located at the north this year. The indirect
Wealth Star can also bring power and authority that suggest riches and wealth
for you. To enhance this luck, hang an eight Immortal coins or place a Jade emperor
at the north. Other suitable enhancers for the north would be tortoises (longevity
and harmony), pi yaos (protection) and phoenix and dragons (improved luck).
Protect
your southwest because the number 7 Violent Star is here. This affliction spells
robbery, violence and even ill-intentions toward you. This can also surface the
bad qualities or behavior among household members. To remedy such affliction,
place an elephant with its trunk up in the southwest sector. The blue rhinoceros
can also be assigned to do the job. To cool down temperaments, a water feature
can also be added.
The
well-sought Auspicious Wealth Star flies to the east this time. Bringing prosperity,
career luck and more happiness, the lucky number 8 must be enhanced for full benefit.
You can do this by putting a 6-level water feature toward the east. Choose the
one with three symbolic peaks for maximum effect. Also, keep this sector bright,
full of noise and activity. A well-placed image of a dragon might as well attract
very good feng shui.
The
southeast will host the number 9 Multiplying Star. This kind of luck aids in you
in problem solving toward the completion of endeavors and added luck for future
prosperity. For prosperity, happy events, business and career luck, energize the
southeast by placing a Money tree with lights or a red coral tree together with
the Fuk Luk Sau. Or, you can choose from displaying glitter lamps or the images
of nine dragons.
