Strange Sighting Leads to Several Reports

Some people around Colfax Monday night swear they saw something in the sky they can’t explain.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Department responded to calls that something, possibly an airplane or a meteor, fell from the sky just south of Colfax. Witnesses say they saw a bright blue and white light. However, they could not confirm an impact.

The sheriff’s department called airports around the area, but none was missing an airplane. The department eventually concluded it was probably a meteorite. However, according to weather reports, there were no meteor showers in the area Monday night.
