Sedona chemtrails:
fact or fiction

Sedona,
AZ - At SedonaForums.com (part of Sedona.biz), one of the most active discussion
forums has been about chemtrails. Since March 2007, the chemtrail forum has been
viewed almost five thousand times and there have been 18 posts, many linking to
videos and photos of suspected chemtrails taken over Sedona and elsewhere, and
to articles about chemtrails.
Some
in Sedona feel that the government is purposefully spraying harmful metals into
the sky. Here are some quotes from the chemtrail discussion forum:
"How
do we protect our bodies from these harmful metals that we breath? I know there
are lots of herbalists out there that maybe can give some advice...chemtrails
use barium to form a cob web [in the sky]."
"One
thing I have noticed is that the chems are put down very heavily right before
a rain storm. Does that help carry the poison down to the earth? Is that an actual
plan? Today and yesterday, Sedona had rain. Right before it started, the two days
before, "they" were laying down chems like crazy. I've noticed this
over and over and over again."
What
are chemtrails? Chemtrails, or contrails as they were originally coined because
they look like the condensation trails from jet exhaust or wingtips, were first
noticed in the late 1990s as large billowy white vapor plumes of smoke that appear
too thick to be jet exhaust. Chemtrails differ from most contrails in that they
crisscross the sky, unlike the straight line configuration of typical contrails.
Chemtrails also seem to take much longer to dissipate in the sky than contrails,
and those exposed to chemtrails say they experienced pneumonia-like respiratory
symptoms. Some recommend taking colloidal silver to offset the negative effects
of chemtrails.
Some
feel that the government is testing biological agents on its civilian population
for population reduction. Others believe that it relates to space weaponry, weather
modification, or possibly the government's attempt to slow global warming by spraying
aluminum oxide particles into the air to create a sunscreen.
In
2001, presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) introduced the Space Preservation
Act to the US House of Representatives. The purpose of the bill was "To preserve
the cooperative, peaceful uses of space for the benefit of all humankind by permanently
prohibiting the basing of weapons in space by the United States, and to require
the President to take action to adopt and implement a world treaty banning space-based
weapons." In Section 7 of the bill it defined exotic weapons systems such
as "electronic, psychotronic, or information weapons; chemtrails; high altitude
ultra low frequency weapons systems; plasma, electromagnetic, sonic, or ultrasonic
weapons; laser weapons systems; strategic, theater, tactical, or extraterrestrial
weapons; and chemical, biological, environmental, climate, or tectonic weapons.
"
Although
the bill never passed, it lent credibility to those who believe chemtrails are
real.
According
to a U.S. Air Force paper regarding contrails, however, "The "Chemtrail"
hoax has been investigated and refuted by many established and accredited universities,
scientific organizations, and major media publications." The paper goes on
to say that contrails can be long lasting and can form many shapes as they are
dispersed by...wind shear. Also, more contrails have been seen in recent years
due to the growth in the civil aviation market.
So,
are chemtrails fact or fiction?
More
likely than not, what appears to be chemtrails in Sedona's skies could simply
be contrails left behind from airplanes landing on and taking off Airport Mesa
at the Sedona Airport.
