Chechen
religious figure wants foreign sects barred from Russia
Gudermes,
August 23, Interfax - A Chechen religious leader, the Council of Alims Chairman
Khozhahmed Kadyrov has called on the nation's leadership to bar entry by emissaries
of foreign-funded "Satanic sects and pseudo-religious groups."
"The
state must not remain on the sidelines, disregarding what various Satanic sects
and pseudo-religious groups, funded abroad, are doing in this country," Kadyrov
told an international peace forum in Gudermes on Thursday.
"It
is absolutely clear that their interests are funded from broad and will never
benefit the development and prosperity of civil society in Russia," he said.
