Feng
shui's Red luck

IN
my neighbourhood, there is this man in his forties who uses 'feng shui' (geomancy)
principles to place bets on football.
Master
Heng, as he is affectionately known to his football kakis at the Singapore Pools
outlet, believes feng shui can determine the outcome of a match.
It
may sound like pseudo-science, but feng shui is an art to some, especially in
Singapore.
I've
never been a superstitious person, but as I have been going through a black August,
I saw no harm listening to what he had to say.
A
little practical application of feng shui in your football bets may bring some
positive energy in your way according to Master Heng.
He
pointed out: 'Why did Arsenal goalkeeper (Jens Lehmann) make two silly errors
in the last two weeks?
'It's
not that he lacks skill or is not good enough, but that his luck was really bad
during those two days.'
Makes
some sense doesn't it, or else how do you explain his howlers?
ANALYSIS
Master
Heng shared his analysis for the 10pm games tonight by stating that the teams
clad in red will have better luck compared to teams in blue.
This
means luck will be on the side of Aston Villa, Arsenal and West Ham United, if
Master Heng is to be believed.
He
takes the day, time and venue of the game into consideration. For bigger bets,
he goes as far as finding out the birth dates of certain key players.
'Arsenal's
new striker (Eduardo da Silva) will be a lucky man tonight. If he plays, I'm quite
sure he'll score or create a few goals,' said Master Heng.
'On
the other hand, luck has also run out for the young Manchester City goalkeeper
(Kasper Schmeichel).'
So
for Master Heng, it's Arsenal to beat Man City and he's predicting a 1-0 or 2-1
scoreline.
Feng
shui aside, I'm going for Liverpool to beat Sunderland.
In
the first two weeks, many punters, including myself, were influenced by the thought
that Roy Keane's Sunderland would be as difficult to beat as Man U was when he
was their skipper.
But
if you had watched their 3-0 defeat to Wigan last week, Sunderland looked completely
out of their depth against a side that was nearly relegated last season.
Other
than goalkeeper Craig Gordon and striker Michael Chopra, the rest of team will
find it tough containing the visiting Liverpool stars.
On
top of that, Liverpool are in overdrive and will be going all out to win the Premiership
title this season after spending big in the summer.
Rafael
Benitez's men were unlucky not to beat Chelsea last Sunday and I can't see them
dropping any more points as they chase for the title.
So
against Sunderland, there can only be one result - a clear-cut Liverpool victory.
