Plea for psychic to help Madeleine case

SEVERAL Champnews readers e-mailed asking why Joe Power has not been involved in the search for Madeleine McCann.

Last week the West Lancs psychic amazingly revealed that he knows where the missing tot was taken after her abduction.

"I have a sketch of the place where she was taken that was done with the help of a university," said Joe, who was brought up in Digmoor but lives in Ormskirk.

Last week, Joe told how he incredibly predicted where missing Dewsbury girl Shannon Matthews would be found and even both first names of her abductor.

Joe, who has assisted police in high profile missing person's cases before, added that Liverpool businessmen had approached him saying they would fly him over to aid the hunt for missing Maddy. And Champion readers have backed him in his quest.

Reader Christine wrote: "This man has obviously got a gift so let him try to help."

Mr Mike Stevens said: "I say, 'let this psychic help on the Madeleine case', any help can only be a good thing for her to be found. If the McCann's do not want to know, then, let them find out once if he is of any help. I believe that this is the only way, they will ever find out where she is."

Joe said he would only get involved at the request of the family.

"They're a respectable family and I won't interfere unless they want me to," he said.

However, he believes that he would have a good chance of finding the missing three year old.

"There's no reason why someone like me shouldn't be over there. Only good can come out of it. Let a specialist go over and get an insight.

"I can't promise I'd find her but I'd give it a damn good go. I'd go to Portugal with dignity and respect. I'm down to earth, I'm not away with the fairies."
