Police
called to Garstang psychic night POLICE
were called to The Flag pub, Garstang, when a psychic night ended in a heated
argument. Clairvoyant
Paula Paradaema had been booked for an evening of clairvoyance at the pub - but
had to summon officers when, she claims, there was a dispute over her fee. Audience
member Victoria Catterall, 30, of Meadowcroft Avenue, Catterall, said: "The
night cost £11.95 and the landlady said to be there early, for about 7pm,
to get a seat. "The
psychic lady turned up at about 9.15pm. The sound system didn't work properly
so no-one could hear her anyway." Nearly
150 people were in the pub for the evening last Thursday. The
pub management then allegedly refused to pay Paula Paradaema her full fee and
so the psychic called the police. A
police spokesman said: "We were called to a civil dispute and reports of
a heated argument at around 11.30pm. We were called but were not needed as the
female was paid in the end." Ms
Paradaema said: "They told me to come at 9pm - this can make me look bad. "Three
customers complained and the rest were on my side. I don't want to hurt people,
everyone's trying to earn a living.'' No-one
at The Flag was available for comment when The Courier contacted the venue this
week.
