Ghostly goings-on examined

A former doctor’s surgery with a sinister past in Staffordshire is being investigated by a team of ghostbusters after being called in by families.

Two families who live in the property in Hatherton Street, Cheslyn Hay, which is now converted into houses, say they are terrified after a series of spooky events left them with no choice but to call the Paranormal Seekers Society.

The Wolverhampton branch of the society will now be carrying out an in-depth investigation using a range of hi-tech equipment overnight on December 21 - the longest night of the year.

The building, which used to house a morgue in its cellar, has had a number of eerie incidents that have frightened the families living there and they have noticed that the amount of incidents peak at this time of year.

They say have experienced doors slamming, objects flying off shelves and there have been two sightings of apparitions.

Donna Bird, group founder, said it is the group’s first private investigation since they were formed 18 months ago.

She said: “One of the mums out of one of the families knew someone in our group and she came to us and said we need your help.

“We’re going to do a thorough investigation and see what we find. If we do find evidence of the afterlife we have a medium who works with us and can do house clearances.”
