Why
was the US tapping Princess Diana's phone?
The
resulting information to be revealed by Lord Stevens detailed report on Diana's
violent car crash death, and the events that led to it are coming to light. The
most shocking bit of information is that according to news sources like the Sunday
Observer and the BBC - the American secret service was bugging the phone lines
of the Princess. The "whys" of it remain a mystery still.
The
Sunday Observer states the bugging had no approval from any British secret service
authorities on the fateful night the young Princess was killed in the car accident.
What was also found to be true was that her driver was drunk when he took the
wheel.
This
shocking revelation about the possible reasons why an American secret service
would be tapping into Diana's life and surveilling her remains unanswered. It
is sparking new dialogue regarding the international code of rules and conduct
between sovereign nations regarding the right to spy on individuals without any
lawful protocols.
The
Sunday Observer reports that "Stevens is understood to have been assured
that the 39 classified documents detailing Diana's final conversations did not
reveal anything sinister or contain material that might help explain her death."
In
the upcoming report Stevens's theory is that Diana, her boyfriend at the time,
Dodi Fayed, and the French driver died in an accident caused by the driver speeding
through the Pont de l'Alma underpass in Paris while drunk, and losing control
of the vehicle. The car was being followed by paparazzi.
The
Stevens report is said to prove the numerous conspiracy theories wrong. Diana
was not pregnant or planning nuptials with Dodi, son of retailer and outspoken
entrepreneur Mohamed Fayed.
There
is still the mystery unsolved of a possible white Fiat that left paint on the
struck vehicle that carried the Princess, but allegedly has never been recovered.
